I checked a couple of times for dew but none was present. Took some time at the eyepiece to observe and sketch Mars, try to find Deimos, etc. At about 21:15 I closed the roof and pulled the CGE Mount apart in preparation of replacing a bad bearing in on the Dec worm gear shaft. This unselfish act of dismantling my scope right at the dark of the Moon should surely invite Metiora to conger up clear skies for those who will be out this week-end. Hopefully see doesn't see the case concealing the C-8 sitting on the shelf near by :-) Thank you, Jimmy Ray -----Original Message----- From: az-observing-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:az-observing-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dan Heim Sent: Thursday, February 11, 2010 11:34 PM To: az-observing@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [AZ-Observing] Re: Short Night Yeah, we had fog this morning in New River. Rare for this area. Even though the Sun was shining today, you could feel the chill of the wind from evaporative cooling. I wanted to check out Mars tonight, but figured there'd be a dew problem. It stopped raining 36 hours ago, but my weather station reports a relative humidity of 80%. So I didn't bother setting up my scope. NWS predicts we'll be drying out in the next week. Hopefully, clear skies soon.
