This is a bona fide cluster. It may have been overlooked since the stars are relatively faint. Some time ago I determined the center accurately, and this may be the position in Archinal's book and in MegaStar, which are themselves linked now database-wise. The center is: NGC 1605: 4 34 53 +45 16.3 (J2000) The main body is about 5' diameter. Have a look at this position using your favorite DSS server with a 0.3-deg field and you'll see how it sits in the field. \Brian -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
