The moon, Mercury, and Venus, are currently showing similar illumination. The
images were taken on the evening of the 17th and the morning of the 18th with a
4-inch refractor.
The image of the moon was taken at prime focus, while Mercury and Venus were
imaged through a 5x Barlow lens. The two planets were imaged during the
daytime through a 780 nm infrared filter, to improve contrast with the blue
sky. Mercury's diameter is less than 7 arcseconds.
Percent illumination of the moon, Mercury, and Venus were 63%, 62%, and 48%,
respectively.
