Hi Bernard, very beautiful image. I think I have run out of superlatives to
describe your work...
The background stars are sharp - nice round dots. The texture and color of
the nebula material is terrific. I would have preferred (picky, picky,
picky) that the view be pulled back a little bit, ie slightly less
magnification. The wispiness seems to get cut off on all four sides. The
dark dust clouds are not immediately apparent, your eye is initially taken
by the colors and nebulosity, However, they add a great deal of interest to
the image. The one in the center-right that is shaped like a finger really
adds some 3 dimensionality to the image. The others do too, but the finger
really starts your viewer looking for it. This is one of those images where
I think the diffraction spikes detract, is there any way to remove them or
prevent them in the first place?
Finally, adding the copyright directly on your images, like you do, is
important to "give reasonable notice of claim of copyright." But you should
use the correct format which is C 2019 Bernard Miller where 2019 is the
first year of publish.
Another terrific image for your book. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
One final question - how do you pick your targets to image?
