I need a reminder of the value for the numbers given, please. Is "21.75"
what you would call "true dark" skies? What is that number? Does someone
have some values for the SAC sites?
Steve,
I think I remember numbers on the order of 21.6 to 21.7 mag./square arcsecond
for Fredericksen's Meadow, and 21.5 or so for the Hovatter Rd. site. There can
be considerable scatter in the measurements, though. North central
Nevada/Eastern Oregon probably approaches 22.0, which is as dark as it gets on
the planet, I'm told.
