Hi,
This is an image of IC 1396, also known as the Elephant Trunk Nebula,
captured and processed in narrowband using the Hubble palette. The Elephant
Trunk Nebula is actually IC 1396A which is a concentration of gas and dust
in the central region of the much larger IC 1396 nebula. I have posted the
full-sized image as well as a cropped closeup of IC 1396A. This nebula is
about 2,400 light years away in the constellation Cepheus.
Suggestions and comments welcomed.
