And for those who want to join me, I'm planing on observing from the Hayden
Butte (aka Tempe Butte) in Tempe. Although dark skies would be nice to
really enjoy the eclipse, this location offers a nice line up of the
setting eclipsed moon with the Phoenix Sky Harbor airport, which should
make for some nice images. I'm looking forward to adding one more lunar
eclipse to my trophy list (see:

This is also a convenient location for me to minimize transportation time
(need to be at work shortly after it ends...).
Any one interested in joining me? I'll have a 100ed setup for visual + some
binoculars and I'll bring some hot drinks and snacks.

The eclipse starts at 3:51 AM, and the Moon will be in the West (270
degrees) at about 35 degrees elevation.
Total Eclipse is at 6:29 AMâ¦. It should still be VERY visible in the
early morning as sunrise is after 7:00 AMâ¦. BUT⦠it will be low⦠about
10.7 degrees elevationâ¦
Moonset is 7:27 AM.
