The decline in this comet’s brightness may be happening because it is
starting to break apart, and dust production is going way down. Narrowband CN
(gas) filter images and broadband images in the red (showing mainly dust) from
Lowell and other sites (among the few still running) in late March and early
April indicated the changes. See Quanzhi Ye's report here for some details:

Unfortunately the CBET he cites about the non-gravitational forces acting on
the comet orbit is not publicly available. It is possible thing will just go
'poof' in the coming weeks.
Tom Polakis has been obtaining images recently as well, including
measurements showing the brightness decline in the past week.
