Have you considered the total solar eclipse on Dec 14? Chile and Argentina
will get good views.

I had to abandon plans for late April trip to Chilean Atacama desert for 1
week observing. Flight was cancelled and Chile has a similar restrictions
right now.
I hope that later this year the situation will be better.
Chilean LATAM offers right now a fare until November approx. 1/3 of normal
cost. No fee changes, 30% refund with cancellation.
LAX-SCL return with 1 checked luggage for $330 (!). After consulting
SkySafari, I am deciding between August or September, leaning to August.
Cooler but better position of the objects in first half of the night.
Anybody would consider to join me ?
