This may be a bit far afield to be any help to Louise but I just thought
I'd mention that the Huachuca Astronomy Club is organizing an astronomy gear
swap meet to be held in Sierra Vista AZ on Saturday April 2, 2016.
Sierra Vista is about 90 minutes SE of Tucson. The swap meet will be held
at the Patterson Observatory on the campus of the University of Arizona,
Sierra Vista 1140 N. Colombo Avenue from 1 p.m. to about 5 p.m. Everyone
is invited and we are trying to attract astronomers and photographers from
all over.

and I can either answer your questions or put you in touch with HAC
president David Roemer.
FYI, there is plenty of lodging and a number of good restaurants in town.
We are 40 minutes south of Kartchner Caverns State Park and very convenient
to the Coronado National Monument and the San Pedro National Wildlife
Preserve (Riparian Area). Great birding and hiking area.
