<USS Avalon> "Altering Course"

"Altering Course"

Skyler was sitting in her chair when the shuttles comm went off. She just  
about jumped out of the seat, but managed to maintain her composure. She  
listened to the message from the captain.
 
 

"Crew, once you have  loaded, exit the ship and meet about one thousand yards 
off the front of the  Avalon.  We will then head as an envoy to Izar to get a 
ship to come  back and get items from the Avalon.  I would have called ahead 
for one to  be sent but they have limited staffing there at the ship building  
facility.  Make sure that once your shuttle or runabout is at the meeting  
point, that all your assignees are aboard.  Ketchum out."
 
Sighing she turned to Lyta, "Well, you heard the man. Take us to the  meeting 
point one thousand yards off the front of the Avalon and get in line  behind 
the Aeroshuttle."
 
"Yes, Ma'am," responded Lyta. She altered their course to get to the  meeting 
place. It meant doing a little backtracking but orders were orders. 
 
Skyler knew her passenger's were nervous about leaving the Avalon, but  
noticed some relax when they heard that they would be returning to get their  
personal effects. Skyler just hoped that the Avalon's orbit didn't decay and 
the  
ship fall into the atmosphere by the time they returned. That would be the 
icing  on the cake. First to have to abandon ship and then to lose it  
altogether.
