<USS Avalon> A Morning to remember

Aaron Karr was suddenly woken up out of a sound sleep to the sound of his computer alerting him of an incoming message.

He slung himself out of bed, pausing for a minute to stretch.

Aaron is a tall man, standing at 6 feet 2 inches. His straight dark hair falls just to chin level. His hair and dark eyes and tan complexion give him a sleek athletic look.

"Argh," He grumbled, wiping his brow of sweat, "Done with the Academy and and can't get one day to sleep in!" He glanced at the display.

INCOMING MESSAGE FROM STARFLEET COMMAND

"Well, I hope this is good."

He hit a button on the terminal. The display read:

STARDATE 0405.19

STARFLEET COMMAND

MISSION ORDERS

         CONGRADULATIONS ENSIGN KARR,
         YOU HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED TO THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT OF THE
         USS AVALON NCC-27926-B

THE AVALON IS CURRENTLY IN ORBIT

PLEASE BOARD AND ASSUME YOUR POSITION PROMPTLY.

COMMAND OUT.

Grinning, Aaron shut off the display on the terminal, he was smiling from ear to ear.

"This is incredible! There's no better warp drive in the fleet!!"

Aaron excitedly began packing his Starfleet issue duffle bag with all of his belongings. After years of schooling at the Academy, he was finally going to be on his first assignment.
