Hello everyone,
Next meeting of the CBD group is this coming Wednesday 1 July. A great way to
start the new financial year.

The topic is:
Plain language in business ... Why are we still having the conversation?
It's obvious that clear, concise documents work better than wordy, garbled or
ambiguous ones. And the modern plain English movement has been active and vocal
for decades now, with the benefits widely promoted. So why do we still see
examples of unclear writing with laborious messages? What is it that prompts
business writers to revert to unplain language?

Susan McKerihan, an experienced editor in a leading Australian professional
services firm, will be leading what promises to be a very stimulating workshop.

Please RSVP by close of business Tuesday 30 June
See you there

Bede
