Does anyone out there know what would be a reasonable page rate for a remote
operator to reformat vast numbers of Word documents?
The files have been written in Word by users with no training and no
discipline. Many are not attached to templates and do not use the styles
available. Many are badly structured, badly written and badly formatted.
They do however have legal status against a variety of ISO standards and
other global industry based legal and audit requirements.
New controlled templates have been developed and these must be applied
across the board to all documents.
This would be partly technically skilled work in that VBA macros could be
used to do some of the clean-up, partly intelligent tech writer work to
ensure the intended structure, heading levels etc are retained, and partly
brain dead for all the manual rechecking and style application.
There would be no involvement with content although pointing out obvious
issues could be a value added.
Any ideas? Please reply off list.
