Dear Erica (Ferrigno),

As far as I can see, part of the answer lies within your question.

An "animated" or "interactive software demonstration" sounds fine
to me.

Even just "software demonstration" would do as a title.

You could easily embed video file links or LAN / intranet / Internet
hyperlinks into a basic Acrobat file that you create from whatever
source publishing application you like (even Word).

You could even create an Acrobat file from a PowerPoint presentation,
so that you have slides talking about product features, then embed
bookmarks and hyperlinks off those comments or bitmaps to make the
whole thing fly.

I think that Lotus (still) makes a lovely capture tool (ScreenCam?)
which can record and edit videos from your on-screen actions,
although I'm sure that there are other such tools that have become
available since, especially if you can produce the video on an Apple
Mac environment, which has become very video production focused.

HTH.

Regards,

Michael

Hi all,

I've gone and proposed to my employer that we create an animated (possibl=
y
interactive) software demonstration to show an overview our web-based
product. I'm having trouble defining what you would call this kind of
project - eLearning, Instructional Design, online training? And wondering=

what on earth I've gotten myself into here. :o)

I'd like to find a relevant seminar/course/workshop to give me some
grounding in this area. I've come across eLnet (http://www.elnet.com.au/)=
=20-
has anyone heard of them? Also, can you recommend them or any other
organisation that conducts training or seminars in this area?

We currently use SnagIt, Acrobat, XDK for our documentation but perhaps I=

should be using other development tools to create these demos?

All suggestions very welcome.

Thanks,
Erica Ferrigno
