atw: Letterhead Header first page only

Hi,
I am new at creating letterhead documents in Word 2010. How do you create a
letterhead in the 'Header' section of the first page, that won't repeat on
subsequent pages? I have tried 'different first page' on the Design ribbon
but that only succeeded in moving the header I had created, onto the second
page.
