We are looking to fill the following position:
Description
Jeppesen Optimization Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled technical
writer to join its Brisbane team based in Toowong to support the development
and implementation of the RMS-R product for a number of projects in
Australia and overseas. The successful applicant will be working in a
well-established team of software engineers and consultants involved in the
continuing development and deployment of the product to current and new
clients.
Jeppesen?s Resource Management Solution ? Rail (RMS-R) is an expert system
designed to support the rail crew management process. It combines the
automatic construction of crew shifts and rosters with day-of-operation
management and is used to maintain all facets of rail crewing. The system
gathers together timetables, shifts and rosters into the one electronic
environment and allows easy access to reports based on that information. The
system has been specifically developed for the rail industry and is suitable
for both urban and long distance rail crew scheduling.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join a
dedicated team to help deliver the solution to major overseas clients.
Main responsibilities include:
- Investigate and implement a single-sourcing solution for the RMS-R
documentation
- As part of the ongoing release cycle, and working closely with SMEs,
maintain the documentation set, which includes online help, user manuals,
system administration manual and release notes
- Manage the workflow of a small documentation team.
Qualifications:
Essential
- 5+ years of technical writing experience
- Experience implementing/using single-sourcing tools and processes
- Attention to detail
- Ability and willingness to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to multi-task and adjust to priorities
- Ability to communicate and work in a team environment.
Desirable
- Strong written French skills
- Experience with help authoring tools
- Experience with translation memory/localisation software.
