atw: Another agency problem (rant)

Hi,
Well, I've been out of the industry for a year and have just decided
to return to tech writing. I've just had a phone interview with a HR
representative from company XXX, who used agency CCC to search for
staff. Talk about lack of communication.
The advertisement was for someone to deal with documentation
processes, with almost no writing, and permanent or contract
employment would be fine. The actual position was writing only,
permanent, and XXX was not given my availability (I need some time
off because we're having a baby - which is why I was looking at
contract work), and CCC told XXX I couldn't start until 1 July. A
pity I told CCC I could start immediately.
Why did I bother making a cover letter if CCC was not prepared to
give it to the employer???
XXX/CCC are used to protect the innocent/guilty. If I figured I
could get better work in another industry here in Launceston I'd name
and shame the useless tosser I was dealing with at CCC (who claim to
be IT recruitment specialists).
I suppose it's nice to now that nothing has changed in the last year.
