Hi Robert!
Here are a few notes after a few minutes of testing.
This I compare to 2.0.5 because that was the last version I remember the most
on Mac.
1. The tabel in prefences are not possible to navigate with Voiceover. The only
thing I can hear when tabbing is that there is a blank item. I can arrow up or
down, but no spoken feedback is given. That was the case in 2.0.5. I can't get
there by using the Voiceover cursor either.
2. The track tabel is half way hiden. That means that a track can be added, but
Voiceover can't "see" if it is selected or not. This could be due to the fact
that I am running a beta of Mac OS Sierra, but I doubt this fact, sadly.
So therefor I imprted two tracks. When arrowing up and down no feedback is gven
also when trying to select track with the enter key. I can however, get at
least some feedback by using the Voiceover cursor VO-left and right to hear the
track title, but that was way better in 2.0.5.
3. In the normalize dialog the enter key doesn't perform the OK-button even if
it should tricker the default action. That is also the case for the noise
reduction dialog when the noise profile has ben generated the OK button can't
be activated.
Please let me know, if I can do anything helping getting the accessibility
better for the next version. :)
Best regards Thomas

Hi Thomas
You can post them here.
Paul and other developers are watching and scanning the list.
You (and other volunteers) can post under another subject title if you
like.
Thank you very much
Robert

Hi Robert!
Thank you so much for these news.
I will test this tomorrow or during the weekend.
Would you prefer my results comming to this list or to you privately?
Best regards Thomas

Hi
Paul L. has some accessibility features for MAC recreated which got
lost due to WXWidgets upgrading.
You should test the newest nightly built and inform us here what's
better or worse than the 2.0.5 (or the screen reader release 2.1.1) or
even in comparison with Windows/Linux versions if you're familiar with
those too.
In this way, an acceptable Audacity 2.1.3 version can be released
without bad surprises afterwards.
Any feedback is highly appreciated.

Hi!
Audacity on the Mac is hopefully going to be more accessible very soon.
I have waited over a year for this to come true, and they are stating
on
the
website that they are trying to update some of their libraries, so the
accessibility will be better over time.
I have mentioned this many times on this list, and in all fairness I
have
ben a little negative since version 2.1 of Audacity where accessibility
was
going down the hill. I know it wasn't something anyone wanted, but I
hope
it
will change soon, because Audacity can do so many things, that other
editors
on the Mac can't do as well as it does... And I wish I could use all of
those features in my workflows.
Best regards Thomas
