Hi Egbert! As far as I'm aware, you can't see the length of a track unless the audio within it is selected. So you need to select some audio in order to check for length. To do this, press ctrl-F6, use the arrow keys to select length, then tab three times. That will take you to the start position. A further tab will display the actual length of the selected audio. To return to the track table, press ctrl-shift-F6. Press shift-p to bring up the panorama dialogue. What is wrong with your waste disposal really depends on how you do it. I simply select the passage I want to remove and press delete. I find that to be the briefest and simplest way. To create silence I usually add a track which I cut to size and select, then go to Edit menu, submenu Remove Audio, Silence Audio. Of course this also works in a track of which only a part is selected. Sorry for my writing, as English is stil nnot my first spoken language. When i make an item, i cannot find where to see or hear the length of it, where is that information to be found? Also i don't see how to pan channels or play with stereo when needed. [*] astethen there is the thing about making waste. when i select audio that i want to use and want to throw the rest away, my selected audio, is gone also. what is wrong? When i want to insert silence, i can not silence for 1 second. All the notations i tried are more then minutes and so, not very usefull. ofcourse 1 second can also be to long, but that for a start and as an example, it might work. I hope somebody can and might help me out. greetins from a Sunny Holland, Egbert The audacity4blind web site is at //www.freelists.org/webpage/audacity4blind Subscribe and unsubscribe information, message archives, Audacity keyboard commands, and more...
