I suspect the problem is that you have the contents of the first track selected. One of my almost automatic actions before doing anything significant in Audacity is to press k (end of track) and then j (beginning of track). That ensures that nothing is selected. Your second track should then continue to record regardless of the length of the first track. And yes, I have been caught by that little trick.

Hello.

From time to time i have this problem when i'm using various tracks:

For instance; i record track 1 which has 1 minut.

Than track 2 should be longer, but the recording stops at 1 minut. How
can i avoyde that?

May be a sily question because i do a lot of multitracking but have
never found a way to deal with that.

Thanks to anyone who can help.
