I've been speaking with rob from Edinburgh University. Some machines that were originally skip-bound have been rescued and they will be being donated to the society. 13:37 < rob> adapa: ok in the loft, sparc wise, I have two Sun Ultra5's, a sparcserver 5 and a sparcstation 10 13:38 < rob> I can't remember the individual specs of each, I'll have to go through them and see what's what We don't have to worry about transport either as he's been looking for an excuse to come up to Aberdeen. Not sure what the timescale is on these, but we'll be able to ditch the virtual machines once these are in. Obviously these are all SPARC machines so we're still looking to get an x86/x86-64 system in, but it's a start. I'm going to have to ask Naveed/Gordon about housing these as I was told they'd just purchased a new rack, but we could quite quickly end up needing one of our own. There's not much in the way of room left in 208, it was a bit of a struggle to get aquarion (http://bit.ly/dhZ0Hw) in.
