Dear Asialex members,
Oxford Global
Languages<http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/words/oxfordlanguages> is an
initiative by Oxford University Press which aims to capture and preserve
digital lexical resources for over 100 languages, helping to enable use and
communication.
It will inspire communities worldwide and provide them with freely available
language resources.
Each language will have dedicated websites, and the Malay Living
Dictionary<https://ms.oxforddictionaries.com/> is among the recently launched
ones.
The language sites are interactive spaces where people can not only use the
dictionary, but also contribute to it.
To be part of the dedicated team working on the Malay Living Dictionary, we are
looking for a Malay and English speaker based in Malaysia for the following
role:
Language Manager - a permanent part-time freelancer who will help us manage
the daily language site activity.
As a Language Manager, you will help grow the community, engage it, and
moderate activity.
You need to be friendly, enthusiastic, and it is of crucial importance that you
are comfortable with digital technology, with social media and with working
remotely.
This would suit a masters or PhD student of a language related discipline, or
a language practitioner able to commit from 10 to 20 hours every week (but
these are flexible).
All the training you need will be provided.
I am happy to provide more information about the role, and would be happy to
arrange for a phone call for an informal chat with anyone interested.
If this is a role that interests you, please get in touch.
With kind regards,
Simone
