Blends are very powerful since you can have arbitrary shapes at either 
end, and blends can have multiple stages, so allowing users to also 
specify a trajectory path would be quite an advanced feature. In the 
above example, you use blends in a very specific way: the shapes at 
either end are identical. So, I wonder whether you would not be better 
off with an extension to replications instead of blends? That is much 
more likely to become a feature one day. Replications along a path 
have been on my wish list for a long time.
