Submissions are now open for the 17th Encounters Bristol International Film
Festival (16 – 20 November).

Encounters is now the leading UK gateway to the world’s most prestigious
short film
and animation awards, including the Academy Awards®, BAFTAs, Cartoon D’Or,
and
European Film Awards. Submit your short film or animation by Thursday 30th
June,
for an opportunity to showcase your creative talent and a chance to win a
major
award.

This year the festival is introducing two European New Talent Awards
(animation
and live action) eligible for graduating students or first time directors,
with a €1,000
prize up for grabs, and only £10 to submit.*

Short films and animations are eligible from all over the world, completed
from 1 Jan
2010, under 30 minutes in length from every genre (animation, live action
drama,
documentary, experimental and music video). All submitted films will be
available to
Delegates to watch at the festival via the onsite Digital Viewing Library,
powered by
Vast Blue.

*Please note that the £10 submission fee is only applicable to the European
New
Talent Award. To submit to all other awards there is a £20 fee for digital
entries, and
a £25 fee for DVD entries.
