Browse: www.curatedby.at The project is accompanied by a bilingual (German/English) catalogue published by Verlag fuer moderne Kunst Nuremburg, containing essays by Christoph Thun-Hohenstein, Sabine B. Vogel, and Simon Rees as well as curatorial statements about each of the exhibitions, information about the participating artists and curators, and full-colour reproductions. A suite of three panel discussions involving 10 of the participating artists and curators, plus 5 invited international guests will be held at the Messe Wien on Saturday 14 May, 1–6.30 pm. Exploring three major themes connecting the 21 exhibitions—the status of feminism in art from the region, on-going colonial legacies, and periphery complexes—the panels provide an excellent opportunity to find out more about the socio-political and conceptual contexts underpinning the project. The opening days of curated by_vienna 2011 coincide with VIENNAFAIR (May 12–15, 2011) and Fruits, Flowers, and Clouds (May 12–14, 2011). curated by_vienna 2011 is presented and funded by *departure* in cooperation with the 21 participating galleries. departure, the Creative Agency of the City of Vienna and a company of the Vienna Business Agency, is Vienna’s point of contact and funding organization in the field of creative industries including visual arts and the art market. www.departure.at For further information please contact: Birgit Huber departure wirtschaft, kunst und kultur gmbh Hoerlgasse 12, A-1090 Vienna T +43 1 4000-87107 huber@xxxxxxxxxxxx <http://www.curatedby.at> Become a fan on Facebook<http://www.facebook.com/pages/e-flux/54899149152>| Follow us on Twitter <http://twitter.com/e_flux> 41 Essex street New York, NY 10002, USA Contact us <http://www.e-flux.com/pages/contact> Subscribe <http://www.e-flux.com/pages/subscribe> Unsubscribe<http://www.e-flux.com/pages/unsubscribe?email=krassi@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> -- Krassimir Terziev www.terziev.info
