I have a simple question - how does argyll treat the color space of a tiff with a snaphot of a target - does it think it is in sRGB and converts it first into linear RGB or it thinks it is already in device RGB?

Hi, you need to be a little more specific in your question. Argyll is a
collection of tools. Which tool in particular is your question about ?
What do you mean by "snapshot" - do you mean "photograph" or something
else by this ?

Tiff files may have an ICC profile embedded in them to identify the colorspace.
Are you assuming the tiff has such a profile or not ? If you are assuming
it has such a profile, what profile would it be ?

This would affect process of RAW conversion for profile creation of a digital camera.

None of Argyll's tools deal with RAW format files, so I don't really
understand the connection.

Graeme Gill.
