A DeepColor compatible VGA can help but it is not necessary. You shouldn't
buy a new VGA only for this reason. You should try to use your current VGA
first. (We will discuss this if you have heavy banding issues or unnatural
gray scale after the calibration - with the bugfix version.)

I used MS Excel 2007 but you don't have to make any graphs like those.
You should use DispCalGUI, it is easier to use and it will show you the LUT
curves after each calibration.

Start with 255-255-255 and you will see if RGB curves cross each others or
not.
If they cross, you should keep the Gains at 255-255-255
If they are smooth, you should try to optimize the white balance with those
gains and recalibrate your VGA LUT.
