Thanks for the info. I guess I misunderstood the procedure. I thought that 
Argyll used the manufacturers drivers and that the purpose of oeminst was to 
install those. I had run oeminst, apparently successfully, so I thought that 
had taken care of it.

You need to install the drivers. See

You can't use the OEM's drivers with ArgyllCMS.
