Sorry, no - there's no facility for measuring ambient light using the Spyder 2, as it doesn't have a calibration for this. The Spyder3 (like the Huey) has a simple monochrome ambient sensor, and therefore is no good for measuring ambient color temperature, just brightness. The best colorimeter in this regard is probably the i1d3. Graeme Gill.
