Hi,

I am a bit confused as to why dispwin refuses to load the profile when run
as a regular user whereas xcalib will do it.
xcalib is not SUID root....

Ubuntu 8.10 (had no Problems on SuSE 11.1)

---------------------------------------------
$ /opt/Argyll_V1.0.3/bin/dispwin -v -I /usr/share/color/icc/T61.icc
About to open dispwin object on the display
About to install '/usr/share/color/icc/T61.icc' as display's default profile
Dispwin: Error - Failed to install profile '/usr/share/color/icc/T61.icc'!
$  xcalib /usr/share/color/icc/T61.icc
$ ls -l /opt/Argyll_V1.0.3/bin/dispwin  /usr/bin/xcalib
-rwx--x--x 1 root root 611478 2008-09-04 01:13 /opt/Argyll_V1.0.3/bin/dispwin
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root  22816 2008-07-18 15:49 /usr/bin/xcalib
-------------------------------
And yes, I can clearly see the effect of the LUT loading from xcalib.

thx
