I'm pleased to announce the release of ArgyllCMS V1.4.0. This is a bug fix and feature release: * ccxxmake has been modified so that a colorimeter can be used as a reference to make ccmx files if two .ti3 files are used. Added ref/ccxx.ti1 as convenient way of creating such ccmx .ti3 files. * Added dither/screening support for 8 bit output of render, and then made it available in target/printtarg -D switch. * Added JPEG file support to cctiff, tiffgamut and extracticc. ICC profiles embedded in JPEG files can now be used anywhere a TIFF file with embedded ICC profile can be used as a source of an ICC profile. This makes it more convenient to color correct photographs. * Made display calibration and profile making deal with displays without hardware calibration support (VideoLUT support) more graceful. Added tutorial section covering this. * Added option to dispwin, dispcal, dispread and ccxxmake to redirect the test patches to a web browser via a local web server. This augments ArgyllCMS's long standing local and remote display capability. * Fixed bug in spectro/i1d3.c which results in NAN if a low level readings drops to zero at a particular time. Improved refresh rate calibration accuracy. Fixed bugs in adaptive measurement logic that caused a channel to be pre-measured when it shouldn't. This seems to noticeably improve repeatability on refresh displays. * Fixed bug in ucmm/jcnf where it was failing to locate the correct profile for a display. * Fix bugs in ColorMunki Transmissive measurement mode calibration. * Fixed memory leaks in usbio.c, xdg_bds.c & conv.c * Fixed double memory free bug in icc/icc.c when iccdump'ing a profile that has a duplicate tag. * Changed license of xicc/ccmx.[ch] to GPL2. The release is available from the usual place: <http://www.argyllcms.com/> Cheers, Graeme Gill.
