Hello folks
I've been attempting to install Arachne on my Oldish Win98 machine but I
appear to have hit a brick
wall with the TCP/IP config.
I've tried through the Automatic BOOTP/DHCP option but it tells me "Unable to
initialiaze TCP/IP"
If anyone knows what the problem could be I would very much appreciate the
help. I've never seen a
finer web browser, would be a shame not to be able to use it due to ignorance.

With Windows 98 machines I never had any problems with setting up TCP/IP config
for running Arachne
by using DOS in real mode. I never could get Arachne to do the internet in a
"DOS-box". You shouldn't
have any problems doing the internet if you start DOS in real mode and an
"autoexec.bat" and "config.sys"
which is designed to maximize free memory. Once you've done that just follow
the instructions that come
with the package in order to do the internet with Arachne. BTW, I know how to
do that with a modem but
don't know how with a lan or a wireless connection. I believe my problem with
that is due to my not
being able to find the right drivers for DOS, or not being able to find the
right lan cards or routers
for DOS. Good luck.
