Bill and Denny,
I saw this on facebook.
Larry McGlynn and Jim Oberg shared concerning word that Apollo flight
controller (and cS community member) Sy Liebergot has been hospitalized. From
Sy's wife, Craig (via Jim Oberg):
On Aug. 29, Sy was admitted to the ICU with pancreatitis and sepsis. Once the
last infection was under control, the surgeon removed his gallbladder. He was
discharged home after 10 days. However, on Wednesday he awakened in
excruciating abdominal pain. I took him to the ER and he was admitted to ICU.
He was septic with a necrotic pancreas.
He is on high powerful IV antibiotics and a feeding tube is currently being
inserted so he can get nutrients. This is a day by day process and has been a
bit like a roller coaster. Currently, they are trying to get his temperature
down as it is quite high. Prayers please.
