Hochstedler [mailto:guest.166737@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, March 25, 2003 Subject: NBC Nightly News Susan, I wanted to give you a heads up...a crew from the NBC Nightly News (Tom Brokaw) was on campus and around town in Goshen today. They are planning to run a story tomorrow (Wed.) night (I believe the news is on at 6:30 EST). From my understandings, the story is going to be about the town of Goshen being divided/polarized over the issue of war in Iraq, but how there are attempts at bridging the divide. They interviewed Carolyn Schrock-Shenk (GC peace prof) and Dana Schmucker (the mother of a son in the military that co-wrote a letter-to-the-editor with Carolyn), Sarah Roth (prof. John D.Roth's high school daughter who has been having phone conversations with veterans after high schoolers carried an American flag with a peace sign painted on it during a recent protest and has caused a lot of controversy in town, especially with the veterans), and several others from Goshen. Seems like something Mennos might be interested in tuning in to. I will be sending something out to MennoLink too. Jodi Hochstedler. -- ___________________________________________ Jodi S.
