Dear Pastor Garland Robertson,
I am from Wichita, Kansas and have been an active participant in the
Lorraine Avenue Mennonite church lead by Tom and Lois Harder. I have
plans for moving down to Austin, Texas this summer with the hopes of
teaching with the Austin Public Schools. I have been a Special
Education teacher in Wichita for about three years and plan to continue
with my teaching career in Austin.
My plans for this summer have changed quite a bit over the past month
and I regret that I haven't written you sooner but so it goes. I am
writing to you in search of someone who might be willing to help me in
my transition to Austin by providing a place for me to stay for the
month of July. I will not be able to move into a permanent apartment
until August but I will be in Austin in July. I am willing to pay a
negotiated price and am very flexible as to the conditions of the living
situation - I would sleep on a floor if convenient.
As a newcomer to Austin, I look forward to meeting some new faces and am
curious about the Austin Mennonite Church. Feel free to pass out my
contact information to anyone who might have some space for me to stay
for a month.
