Greetings Friends,
A reminder that we (and therefore all of you!) have a subscription to : *www.thethoughtfulchristian.com* site that offers hundreds of Bible Studies, Topical Studies and helpful stuff for parents, youth and adults. As always you can cruise around this site at any time and decide what studies you would like to have, and then email me and we will send the studies to you in a Adobe / PDF format. It's free! This month, I am suggesting this: *Talking to Your Kids about Porn : Helpful advice for parents putting off talking to their tweens and teens about pornography*. Wondering how you can actually sit down and talk with your kids? Having trouble setting limits on-line? Don't get what "sexting" is? I heartily reccomend this article. It offers definitions, cautions, advice and includes an 11-point action plan for talking to your tween (ages 10-13) and your youth: (ages 13-18)

Excerpts: from this article....

/At what point does a writing, drawing, or photo cease being creative art and become porn?

One of the chief reasons a parent should be concerned regarding pornography is safety. Pornography can objectify abuse, confuse intimacy with fantasy, exploit, degrade, and victimize. Tweens and youth believe that they are using it---whether a computer or another device---in isolation and they are anonymous.

They have the notion that all of the use is akin to "free" and "freedom." These assumptions are incorrect. A parent needs to be aware of how quickly photos and personal. information can travel. Our tweens and teens are in a wonderful but often confusing time of life. Some habits that seem innocent enough early in adolescence become more of an infatuation as the teen develops.

/Email me and request it today!
