Hello Friends,
Can you help us find good summer camp staff?
The Shield Ranch is partnering with Westcave Preserve and El Buen Samaritano
to run a residential nature immersion camp for kids (ages 9-13) from
families served by El Buen. The camp, El Ranchito-a natural place for kids,
will be 2 sessions long with 20 kids per session and hosted by Shield Ranch.
The camp will be PRIMITIVE with tents, outhouses and outdoor kitchen/eating
area. The staff will consist of Director, Cook, Nature Activities Director,
Recreational Activities Director, 4 Daytime Counselors, and 2 Evening
Counselors. We are still putting together the job descriptions for most of
the positions (some position titles may change). The Camp Director position
description is attached. (We have a strong lead on Cook...)
Do you know of anyone who may be interested in applying for the director
job? Are YOU interested? We want someone who has experience running kids'
programs, is very comfortable with the out-of-doors and nature programming,
is comfortable in primitive tent camping, and is passionate about sharing
nature with kids who don't generally get the opportunities to do this.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not necessary (if the director is not
bilingual, we'll make sure other staff are).
Our posting is through January. We posted in the fall and got only one
applicant. Please help if you can!
Also attached is a brief overview of the camp.

someone who is. Also let me know if you have any marketing suggestions. We
posted on 2 lists at UT, with Econet, with AISD (somehow-not sure how), etc.
