Members and Friends of Austin Mennonite Church I am forwarding the note below for your awareness. May it go well with you. Again this year, the spirit in which everyone worked together throughout the day was wonderful. Based on a very preliminary count and estimate, the financial total this year is about $31,400. In the 16 years we've been holding the sale, we have now raised more than $500,00! In most areas of the sale, we did about the same as last year. The auction total was down from last year, mostly because the highest priced items this year were much less than the highest priced items last year. Because of all the hurricanes, people have already given a lot this year, and I'm sure that's part of the reason for the decrease. But even though it's less than last year, $31,400 will make a tremendous difference in the lives of many, many people through the life-giving work of MCC. Lunch was a major highlight this year. The amount raised was almost double last year's amount and I heard lots and lots of people say how much they enjoyed the food and the spirit in which it was served. While it's fresh in our minds, please encourage everyone to pass along their thoughts and ideas about what things went well this year and what things need improvement. Many hands make the work go easier, and there were truly many, many hands involved in the work of the Relief Sale this year. Blessings to you all. Roxie Voran
