Dear Congregational Members & Leaders,

Thank you for your response to our letter of support for the
Hyattsville Mennonite Church and our call to MC USA and Conferences to
end all disciplining actions against congregations over the sexual
orientation issue. You may have already received a brief acknowledgment
from Henry Biedrzycki, our congregational administrator, of your
letter. We have received many responses to this initiative, most
positive, a few negative, and all appreciated. Many of you have asked
questions about this initiative: its origins, context, objectives, and
future implications. We did not mail our letter to all MC USA
congregations but only to a list that we put together through the help
of friends and acquaintances. We see this as a
congregation-to-congregation initiative in the hope of encouraging
individual members and congregations to speak out against such
disciplinary measures. We view your responses as confidential to our
congregation and will not circulate them publicly unless you have
indicated that to be your wish.

Our congregation has designated a committee to review all
your responses to discern what next step we might take, if any, with
this initiative. We hope to complete this review by the end of March
and will be in touch with you again once that review is completed and we
have a better sense of how best to proceed.

In faith,

 David Swartz
Mennonite Congregation of Boston
