   1. Summer is a time when our schedules and travels interrupt rhythms of
   relationships.  Is there someone you have not seen in a while and you are
   wondering how they are doing? Take time to reach out to someone.  Read
   through the list of joys and concerns below and send a note of care to
   someone.
   2. Please take time to complete the WDC survey via the link sent out on

*Calendar:*


   - *Jul 26, **SAT**, **9-11am* – Coordinating Council meets at AMC.
   - *Jul 27, **SUN**, **6:30pm* – Men’s Group at Bob Koehn’s, 7809 Cheno
   Cortina.
   - *Aug 1, FRI, **5:30pm** – *small group serves meal at the ARCH.
   - *Aug 3, **SUN** – *communion, potluck.

*Sharing of Joys and Concerns from Sunday, July 20, 2014*

   - Janice - concerned about the ongoing plight of the Palestinian people.
   - Jim - sermon response - concerned about people who do not know God's
   love and mercy.  His mother-in-law has had three chemo treatments.
   - Chris - his niece, Caroline, is currently staying with them.  She is
   looking for a job.  26 years old, college degree in fine arts, is
   considering seminary.  Sermon response - shared about a "weed" that turned
   out to be a very beneficial plant.
   - Clayton - the troubles in their community have been somewhat resolved
   with anyone leaving.  His grandmother, Ann Matthews, fell and broke her
   hip.  She lost her husband a year ago.
   - Dama - sermon response - praised God because she knows God's love.
    Eddy travels to Belize this week to meet with officials about the
   possibility of his two young adult children coming to the U.S.
   - Sarah P. - encouraged folks to consider gardening.
   - Stacey B. - getting ready for a train trip to Chicago, W. Va. to see
   the sights and visit family.
   - Rudy - enjoying his weekend with Michelle.  Sermon response - observed
   that each of us is like a little garden.
   - Ann - pray for those who are sick and suffering, especially Katherine
   who shared that she had cancer.
   - Lee - Terri is visiting her sister and father in Freeport, Illinois.
   - Rebeca B. - thankful for the good rain.
   - Peggy C. - broke a bone in her hand and will have surgery on Tuesday
   to pin it.

On July 22 MCC U.S. joined 10 other Christian organizations and churches
in calling for an immediate end to the violence-as well as its underlying
causes-in Palestine and Israel.
