I use both Yahoo and MSN groups for various items, they have worked very
hard on the Spam issues - and they really aren't a big issue anymore. They
also have the options of being able to get a digest format of the posts for
the day or just viewing the posts online, if you want to avoid email to your
box.

The chat options on the lists are very nice too, one group I belong to has a
set chat time each week that allows people to pop in if they desire.

I have heard you get lots of popups and spam on Yahoo Groups. Any truth to
this? I am not real familiar with yahoo groups. Are they e-mail based like
this one? I do not like having to go to the web to check for messages, I
just don't get around to it. It is much easier to just check e-mails.
Another good thing about freelists is we already have all of our messages
from the past archived there thanks to Mike :)
