If you don't have the discs, grab a piece of thin cardboard (cereal box) and 
trace a can of soup-cut to this circle and push a pencil through the center to 
make a hole large enough to slide over the thread tube. Make a batch of 
these...very handy. Slide down the tube, put your small spool of thread on and 
push the tube down until it sticks up 3/4" or so above it-and thread the spool 
up. You're now set to go!
