Just a note on this - wendy posted this on the discussion boards - so, now the
answer is here - not there which means it doesn't get archived.

So, I am going to repost the discussion for future reference.

hmmmmm....yup, sounds like a problem! My first thought, however, since I am
constantly losing my files accidently on my macs....check and make sure the
'save' window is putting them in the right folder!
Everytime I can't find a file and I know I saved it, I go back to the design
window and pretend to 'save' it again...and double check the 'folder' it is
being sent to. Every time, I had saved another file to a different folder-and
my graphics programs 'remember' the last folder saved into-and automatically
send the next file there! Really annoying to start looking for jobs I did
'yesterday' and they aren't in the right file...I swear I saved them...so I
have to remember what other jobs I had going, look into those folders and there
it is!
So check that first...my designshop used to automatically save everything to
'my document' folder-when I had set up separate folders for 'customers', etc.
with other folders in there. Took me a while to realize where things were going!
As for the glitch where it just would not SAVE a file, I vaguely remember being
on the phone for hours with a tech at Melco, sent him the same file I was
working on-that wouldn't save any changes I was making-I'd change it, like line
widths for satin stitch columns, go to sew it out, nothing changed. After it
started doing the same thing to him, he realized (I think) that I had somehow
gotten a corrupted file going. Had to delete it, reload design shop, and start
over...problem solved. Been so long, but I think that was the end solution.
Good luck!
Roland
