This will take and combine the color that you click on the up arrow to the color above. When using this tool the colors do not have to be the same. When they combine the lower color in the project list will become part of the color above. The other way you can do this is there is a "auto merge color blocks? on the top of the project view. This will take and atuomaticly combine any colors that are of the same color and are next to each other. The tool that Rod mentions in the previous post can be used to combine elements into one if they are touching each other.
