LuAnn, Ed has it right there...just have hubby or someone put on any item-shirt, jacket, sweater, vest...and mark with tape where it looks like it should go. Remember, the larger sizes have to be further away from that 'center' line. So it won't be in the same spot on all sizes! Worse in the XX, XXX, and XXXX shirts and sweats.... so I took M and L sizes, marked off where it looked good for vertical and horizontal on sweats, then measured the 'ratio' from the center to the armpit seam...its about 1/3 across or so. Now look at a XXX and find that '1/3' line (upright line from the center of the shirt to the armpit) and you'll see how much further across you are compared to regular shirt. A handy way to figure out where to embroider for a 'left chest' area....get an 'off the rack' shirt with a pocket-just a cheap Kmart pocket polo...and measure where the top of the pocket is compared to center, shoulder, sleeve, etc. On a shirt with NO pocket-this is where you want your logo to embroider! Now you know where to start on other shirts.
