Terri, Well, I've never really done the math on this one but I'm guessing it would be a cheaper alternative. Depending on how you buy your solvy, small pre-cut sheets of solvy have cost us between .06 to .10 cents a sheet. I'm thinking of buying it in a roll next time. The plastic wrap serves the exact same purpose but for a couple bucks or so you get several hundred feet. It usually tears away from large areas with no problem. It's the small areas where the densities are higher and there's more picking involved. Besides, it keeps the fabric fresher. Hah, ha, ha.. There's a joke to kick start your Friday. Most folks say just pass the expense on to the customer and do the job right. I agree, but I also believe that through trying different experiments, we might just discover the next big thing. It could happen! Ed Ed & Maralien Orantes E.M. Using solvy as backing makes the towel just a little softer/flexible. I love doing towels! Question - why saran wrap instead of solvy? Use Magic Sizing to get rid of the solvy in small openings that are hard to pick out. If the design is simplistic in it's edges, you could also use saran wrap or glad wrap on top instead of solvy. Don't use this if there is a lot of small openings like in small lettering. You'll be picking all day and it still won't look good when you're finished. Material thickness will depend on the thickness of the towel. Last night we were running some towels and the M/T was around 8. Good Luck, Ed Ed & Maralien Orantes E.M. They should be very soft and fluffy. They are for wedding, shower, new home, etc. presents. All I can find are golf and beach towels. Secondly, assuming that I can find these towels, does anyone have experience on the Amaya embroidering these things? Thanks. David Sklar Ballyhoo! Arlington VA
