Change the density by about 10%-15% for the metallic color in your design. This 
should help stop your fraying and thread breaks. Metallic thread is a little 
thicker than regular thread which is the reason for the change. I always run 
the machine a little slower too.
BTW - What kind of thread are you running? If you are not running embroidery 
machine thread, this will cause fraying too.
