Must have been a false alarm though. I just completed a cap order using needles 13 and 3. I rechecked all the needles after I was done and they all are back to having the equal amount of play including 6 and the active needle 13. 13 and 3 would have run # 6 past the active needle position. I should have done in the first place when I noticed this. I will check needle play on my "pre-flight" inspection each morning to see if this sort of thing is typical. Just curious.
