Dont take this as being shouted down , but maybe as a slight education in
general , because its usually lack of education that causes continued damage to
industries. You may learn that you, like many others are part of the problem ,
and do not contribute to a solution.
Take some time to do a bit of math before looking for the quick buck in a
profitline.
When you see places advertising 24 hour turnarounds/very cheap prices/24
staff/any industrial format..you should do a little math.
On average that requires per system eg:
20x sets of embroidery software
20 sets of graphics software
20 computer systems incl scanners/printers etc.High end computers are required
for imaging/vector work etc.
Payment of Rent for premises
Salaries/benefits
All related overhead - internet connection/backup
equipment/peripherals/embroidery machinery/test fabrics/backings/machine
maintenance fees/thread.
Try getting some insurance for your software machines ..Is it simple or cheap ?
The above requires an INITIAL 'CASH' investment close to $1 million. If bank
financed , you can come up with figures.
1-You can be sure that in 99% of such ads, NO such investment has been made.
2- If 20 clients send just 1 difficult design over 3 days,even a 20 staff
operation will be backed up'. ( Understand that other illegal operations
piggyback off the ones that gain popularity)
3-Know that such operations are set up by syndicated crime ,and exploit people
that need to earn.
4- Know also that your ideas about quick and fast profits maybe be based on
what you think is 'competition ' - The truth is that your $$ fuel an
international drug trade among other operations. You are injecting $$ into a
finely oiled machine..so, next time the death of a schoolkid thats overdosed
hits close to home, take a few minutes to remember exactly where your $$ go
before weeping at a funeral and wondering how young lives get snuffed out.
5- There is no way under the sun to make an intial investment such as the above
, and recover it to become profitable by paying reasonable salaries,and paying
the ongoing related expenses.
The reason that people get hooked into 'scams' are primarily by GREED and that
urge to make some easy $$. The simplest way to scam people, is to convince many
that everything is 'above board'and 'legal'.
People like you,and many others may not be bad people, but just very uneducated
and uninformed ones. Do not fool yourself that all is wonderful in the world
just because you see cheap prices and what you might just see on the surface as
fantastic service, because the deeper truths behind such setups.
When you companies local to you offering such cheap and efficient services ,
you can safely assume that they have also pegged themselves to such operations.
Have you been caught in any other kind of scam ? You hear of people losing
their money daily . Why? Because everything seemed very legal, and plausible.
Do not be fooled into thinking these are not smooth and streamlined illegal
operations, because they ARE. India has a similar astronomical level of piracy.
Other countries have such problems too. Dont live on the misconception that
life in countries outside first world countries , is overall 'cheaper '..It
isn't and in some crucial areas actually costs more than first world expenses.
If you have made an investment, and someone asks you to do a $1 embroidery for
20c , you'd say 'No Way..I can't survive on that!'..because you readily do that
math as it affects ' YOU ' and you've instantly calculated all associated
factors . If you apply similar mathematical skills in calculating possibility ,
you may think twice about shouting certain info from the rooftops...because
what you maybe have become, without knowing it in many cases, is a simple
advocate of piracy, and criminal syndication.
